Postdoc Christina Dintica awarded by Alzheimer's Association

Christina Dintica, PhD, a postdoctoral scholar in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and member of the Kristine Yaffe Lab, has been awarded an Alzheimer's Association Research Fellowship! Under the mentorship of Dr. Yaffe and UT Health San Antonio's Dr. Mohamad Habes, Dr. Dintica will use data from the CARDIA study to investigate how vascular risk factors in young- and mid-adulthood are related to cognitive function and brain aging in midlife. Midlife is a sensitive period where differences in cognitive trajectories and brain health can become more evident. Findings from this project could provide important insights into the optimal window for treatment, particularly in those with multiple elevated vascular risk factors, which may represent a target group for early prevention.

Congratulations, Christina!
