Higher inflammation in young adulthood linked to lower cognition in midlife

A new study published in Neurology and authored by Dr. Amber Bahorik and Dr. Kristine Yaffe has found that young adults with higher levels of inflammation may experience lower cognition in midlife. Inflammation levels are important for cognitive aging, and the results of this study indicate that the link between inflammation and cognitive brain health may begin earlier in life than previously known.
